The United Church of Christ – Osseo is reopening its
sanctuary for
worship services beginning Sunday, March 14, 2021 at 10:15 am.
The decision is based on the downward
trend in Covid-19 cases and the increase in the number of persons receiving the
Covid-19 vaccinations. We will continue to use masks and practice social
distancing.
Come and join in the worship
services. It will be like a family reunion! It has been several months since we
have been able to gather together. Many have said they have enjoyed worshipping
in their pajamas but, they have missed the fellowship of being at church. As Christians, we are part of God’s family.
As members of our church family, we have an opportunity through fellowship to
put our faith into action. What better time than during this
Lenten and
Easter season to begin again.
Communion will be served at the March 21st and
Easter services.

offerings of the United Church of Christ. This Lenten Offering supports
the disaster, refugee, and development ministries of the United Church of
Christ within Wider Church Ministries.

Please
fill out an order form, printed clearly and send directly to Colby’s Florist at
12930 10th St Osseo, WI 54758 (checks payable to Colby’s Florist) or
call them at 715-597-3442 to place your order. Easter lilies will be from
Colby’s Flower Shop and are $12.50. If you wish to purchase from anywhere else,
you are free to do so. If so, they need to be at the church before the start of
the Easter service.

We aren’t able to celebrate in person so we
have a 2020 online auction and cookie/sweets sale for you to enjoy. There are
many wonderful auction items this year (including mystery gift card baskets,
Handmade quilts, & much more) and you can bid from the comfort of your own

recommended to the Church Council, last Thursday evening, we temporarily
suspend in Sanctuary Worship at this time until further notice. This is due to
the surge in COVID-19, and the exceptionally low attendance, (also impacted by
COVID-19). We will continue to worship on Facebook.
I also look forward to doing
some form of weekly Meditation, though I am not sure how it will get to folks
at this time. I am painfully aware, there are many who have no means of
worshipping with our congregation due to not being able to see us on TCC Cable
Community Channel or on Facebook. I have been disheartened at not being able to
reach you with the WORD. So, over the next month or so, I will figure this out,
and hopefully have a way ALL of this congregation can be served.

Christmas Eve will be
celebrated via a Worship Service which will be posted on our Facebook page and
Website. The service will be a simple service with some scripture, prayers and
lots of Christmas Hymns. The hymn words will be posted (if all goes well) so
you will be able to sing along. And, at the end there will be the traditional
closing with Candle light (so if you have a candle, battery or wick, you can
have it ready for the service.
Also, I am looking at
doing a short and separate Children’s Service for Christmas Eve. I am checking
in to several things and will know more soon. If it happens, it will be posted
also on the Website and Facebook page.
A reminder, to view the
church Facebook (FB) page you do not need to have a Facebook page yourself. Our
church FB page is an open page.
Due to the high rates of Covid-19 occurring in Trempealeau County and the whole state, along with the huge influx now occurring in the Osseo related communities, the Worship Committee recommended to the Church Council to suspend In-Sanctuary Worship for an undetermined length of time.
Pastor
Lois will continue to post worship on the church Facebook page, and send the
video to TCC Cable for the Community Channel broadcast schedule.
The
Community Thanksgiving has been cancelled for this year due to all of the
pastors determining we may not have anyone in attendance due to COVID 19.
Stay
tuned also as Pastor Lois is beginning to look at posting a weekly Meditation
on the Facebook page, and trying to determine a way to get it to all those who
have no access.
Due to possible Bad Weather and Storms, the distribution will be changed from Tuesday, June 9th to Thursday, June 11 (3-5PM) Distribution will take place at the Osseo-Fairchild Football Field Parking Lot , Osseo, Wisconsin
